In September 2023, carmakers had a great month, with all models in the top 15 best-selling cars crossing the 10,000-unit mark. SUVs dominated the list, with a few surprises like a crossover SUV and one sedan.

- Maruti Baleno: The Maruti Baleno secured the top spot with nearly 18,500 units sold, although its sales dropped by 5 percent compared to last year.
- Maruti Wagon R: The Maruti Wagon R came in second place with 16,250 units sold, but it faced a 19 percent decrease in sales compared to the previous year.
- Tata Nexon: The Tata Nexon took third place, selling over 15,000 units. It saw growth in both month-on-month (MoM) and year-on-year (YoY) numbers, with a 6 percent increase in YoY sales.
- Maruti Brezza: Just behind the Nexon, the Maruti Brezza crossed the 15,000-unit mark. Its YoY sales dipped by 3 percent but had a positive MoM movement.
