As the festive season approaches, October will witness the launch of five exciting vehicles, ranging from premium models to more accessible options. Here’s a look at what’s coming:
- New Kia Carnival – Launching October 3
The latest generation of the Kia Carnival is set to make a grand return after its predecessor was discontinued last June. Promising even more space and luxury, it will initially be available in two trims: Limousine and Limousine Plus. This 7-seater (configured in a 2+2+3 layout) will feature captain’s seats in the second row and a bench seat in the third row. Powered by a 193hp, 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, it delivers power to the front wheels. Initially brought in as a completely built unit (CBU), it is expected to be priced above ₹50 lakh, with local assembly slated to follow later.
- Kia EV9 – Launching October 3
Kia will also introduce the EV9 electric SUV alongside the Carnival. Positioned as the brand’s flagship electric vehicle, it will feature a 99.8kWh battery pack, offering an ARAI-certified range of 561km. Equipped with dual motors for all-wheel drive, the EV9 generates 384hp and 700Nm of torque. A 6-seater layout will be standard, with the second row featuring captain’s chairs with electric adjustments, massage functionality, and adjustable leg support. Like the Carnival, the EV9 will arrive as a CBU and is expected to be priced around ₹1 crore (ex-showroom), competing with luxury electric SUVs like the Mercedes EQE, BMW iX, and Audi Q8 e-tron.
- Nissan Magnite Facelift – Launching October 4
The Nissan Magnite will undergo its first facelift since its debut four years ago. Spy shots reveal a refreshed front bumper, grille, and revised headlamps with new LED daytime running light signatures. Nissan has also teased a new alloy wheel design. Interior changes are likely to be minimal, with some added features and new trim pieces. The current engine lineup, including the 72hp naturally aspirated and 100hp turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol engines, will remain unchanged, alongside existing transmission options. Expect a slight price increase with the updated model.
- BYD eMax 7 – Launching October 8
The BYD eMax 7, a facelift of the e6 electric MPV, will bring several upgrades. Exterior changes include redesigned headlamps, tail-lamps, and bumpers with chrome accents. Inside, the dashboard remains largely the same, but a new 12.8-inch floating touchscreen replaces the previous 10.1-inch unit. The eMax 7 will offer 6- and 7-seater configurations, along with new features such as a panoramic sunroof and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite. Internationally, it is offered with two battery options – a 55.4kWh (420km range) and a 71.8kWh (530km range). Prices are expected to fall between ₹30 lakh and ₹33 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it against the Toyota Innova Hycross.
- New Mercedes-Benz E-Class – Launching October 9
The long-awaited sixth-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class (V214) will hit the market, priced from ₹80 lakh onwards. Significantly larger than its predecessor, the new E-Class boasts advanced interior technology, including a superscreen setup. Powertrain options include a 204hp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 197hp 2.0-litre diesel engine, both paired with 48V mild-hybrid systems. The engines are mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, driving the rear wheels. While air suspension won’t be available at launch, deliveries for this luxurious sedan are expected by the end of October.
This lineup offers something for everyone, from high-end luxury to eco-friendly electric options. Stay tuned for more updates as these vehicles hit the market.
