MG eHUB EV charging app launched

MG Motor India has launched ‘eHUB,’ a comprehensive EV charging platform designed to streamline the EV charging experience for customers across the country. This platform, available for free to all EV owners regardless of their vehicle brand, offers a single solution for locating, reserving, and paying for charging stations.

Key Features of MG eHUB:

  • Universal Access: The app can be used by all EV owners at no cost.
  • Extensive Network: Through partnerships with prominent EV charging providers like Adani Total Energies Limited (ATEL), BPCL, Chargezone, Glida, HPCL, Jio-BP, Shell, Statiq, and Zeon, eHUB provides access to nearly the entire charging network available in India.
  • User-Friendly Interface: The platform simplifies the process of finding and reserving charging stations, as well as managing payments.

Additional Initiatives by MG Motor India:

  • Project Reviv: This initiative focuses on repurposing used EV batteries by extracting functional components and creating energy solutions for schools and community centers.
  • EVPedia: A comprehensive resource offering information on EV ownership costs, government policies, and a collection of publications and research papers related to electric vehicles.

MG-Jio Collaboration:

MG Motor has also partnered with Jio to launch the MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform (MG-Jio ICP). This new platform introduces an app store for downloading gaming, entertainment, and learning apps. It also features home-to-car functionality. Notably, the MG-Jio app can be added to existing MG EVs without requiring any hardware upgrades, and all introduced apps support over-the-air (OTA) updates.

Upcoming MG Windsor EV:

MG is preparing to launch its third fully-electric vehicle in India, the Windsor, which will be the first to feature the new eHUB and MG-Jio ICP. The Windsor EV, marketed as the Wuling Cloud EV in Indonesia by MG’s parent group SAIC, is a crossover offering two battery pack options: 37.9kWh and 50.6kWh, providing ranges of 360km and 460km, respectively. It is equipped with a front-axle mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor generating 134hp. The specific version for the Indian market is yet to be confirmed.
