Hyundai Exter SUV India Launch Tomorrow, Here’s All You Need to Know

The Hyundai Exter, the latest offering from the Korean carmaker, is set to be launched on July 10 as Hyundai’s new entry-level SUV. Bookings for the Exter have been open for a while, and Hyundai has revealed most details about the SUV, except for its price. Let’s take a closer look at what the Exter has to offer:

Design

The Hyundai Exter features a modern-looking boxy design. The front profile showcases a bold look with its upright fascia, stubby bonnet, and multi-section bumper with a large skid plate. It boasts sleek H-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and square-shaped headlamps. The sides of the Exter have bulging wheel arches for an athletic stance, along with cladding all around to enhance its SUV look.

Additionally, the Exter comes with dual-tone black and silver alloy wheels. The rear end of the Exter resembles the front, with muscular creases, H-shaped lighting elements in the tail lamps, and a thick black strip connecting the tail lamps. The rear skid plate starts high on the black bumper, giving it an extra rugged appearance.

Cabin

Hyundai Exter Front Seats

The cabin layout of the Exter closely resembles that of the Grand i10 Nios, with the only difference being the color scheme. The Exter features an all-black cabin with a similar design to the Grand i10 Nios.

The center console, diamond pattern on the dashboard, and turbine-shaped AC vents are reminiscent of the Grand i10 Nios. The Exter also comes equipped with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and semi-leatherette seats.

Powertrain

Hyundai Exter Engine

The Exter shares its engine with the Grand i10 Nios and Aura, which is a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 83PS and 114Nm of torque. This engine will be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). At the time of launch, Hyundai will also offer a CNG variant of the Exter. The CNG variant will use the same engine, but it will be mated only to a 5-speed manual transmission and will have lower output figures.

Inside the Exter, you’ll find an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digitized driver’s display with a 4.2-inch multi-information display (MID), cruise control, wireless phone charger, single-pane sunroof, automatic climate control, and a dash cam with dual cameras.
