After a relatively quiet 2025, during which Maruti Suzuki introduced only the Victoris midsize SUV, India’s largest carmaker is gearing up for a much busier 2026. The upcoming year will mark a major transition for Maruti Suzuki, with the brand entering the electric vehicle space in a big way, experimenting with flex-fuel technology, and refreshing one of its most popular compact SUVs.
Here’s a detailed look at the four Maruti Suzuki models expected to launch in India in 2026.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
Expected launch: January 2026
The e Vitara will be Maruti Suzuki’s first fully electric vehicle for the Indian market and a crucial step in the brand’s EV journey. Positioned in the midsize electric SUV segment, it will take on rivals such as the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV and VinFast VF6.
Maruti Suzuki is expected to offer the e Vitara with two battery pack options – 49kWh and 61kWh – both paired with a front-mounted electric motor. The larger battery is claimed to deliver a driving range of up to 543km on a single charge. Safety is also a strong focus, with the e Vitara already securing a 5-star rating under Bharat NCAP.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Flex Fuel
Expected launch: Second half of 2026
Maruti Suzuki will introduce its first flex-fuel-powered car in 2026, using the Fronx compact SUV as the launch platform. This new powertrain is designed to run on high ethanol blends, supporting fuel mixtures of up to E85, which consists of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent petrol.
While official engine specifications are yet to be revealed, the Fronx Flex Fuel is expected to remain largely unchanged in terms of styling, cabin layout and feature list. This model will primarily appeal to buyers looking for a more environmentally friendly alternative without shifting to full electrification.
Maruti Suzuki ‘YMC’ Electric MPV
Expected launch: End of 2026
The second electric vehicle from Maruti Suzuki will arrive in the form of an all-electric MPV, internally codenamed ‘YMC’. Built on the same platform as the e Vitara, this model will feature a more spacious MPV body style and is expected to be positioned above the Ertiga and XL6 in the brand’s lineup.
The YMC electric MPV is likely to be offered with the same 49kWh and 61kWh battery options as the e Vitara, delivering an estimated real-world range of around 500–550km. Once launched, it could rival upcoming electric MPVs such as the Kia Carens Clavis EV.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift
Expected launch: Mid-2026
Maruti Suzuki is also preparing a mid-life update for the second-generation Brezza, which will be entering its fourth year on sale in 2026. Test mules spotted on Indian roads suggest subtle exterior design updates, along with minor interior revisions and additional features.
Mechanically, the Brezza facelift is expected to continue with the familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 103hp, paired with manual and automatic gearbox options. The factory-fitted CNG variant is also likely to be retained, potentially with updates similar to those seen on the Victoris.
What to Expect from Maruti Suzuki in 2026
With two electric vehicles, a flex-fuel-powered SUV and a popular facelift, 2026 is shaping up to be a landmark year for Maruti Suzuki in India. The brand’s renewed focus on electrification, alternative fuels and feature updates reflects its strategy to stay competitive across multiple segments while preparing for stricter emission norms and changing buyer preferences.
