What’s new with the Citroen C3 1.2T Shine?

In India, the C3 1.2 Turbo Feel model with its powerful 110hp three-cylinder engine and six-speed manual transmission used to be the top-of-the-line gasoline-powered C3 model. But the model was criticized for not having enough features, which was also true of the C3 Feel model with a naturally aspirated engine. In our first-drive review, we praised the car’s speed and handling, but we also pointed out that many important features were missing.

Last month, Citroen India released the new top-of-the-line C3 Shine for the less powerful 1.2-liter NA engine with 82hp, and now the 1.2-liter turbo petrol-powered C3 gets the same changes. This includes wing mirrors that can be adjusted electrically, a back parking camera, a day/night rear view mirror that can be adjusted by hand, and front fog lamps. It also comes with 15-inch metal wheels and a rear wash/wipe and rear defogger as standard.

At Rs 8.80 lakh, the C3 1.2 Turbo Shine costs about Rs 1.2 lakh more than the Shine model that runs on natural gas. The My Citroen Connect app, which has about 35 ways to connect, is now also available for the C3. Citroen has added quite a few features to the C3 Shine, but none of the C3 fuel models have a tachometer, push-button start/stop, or automatic air conditioning.

Citron C3 1.2T Shine’s competitors

The Citroen C3, which has a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine, will compete with better trim levels of the Tata Punch and Maruti Ignis, but neither model has a turbo petrol engine option. At this price, the C3 1.2 turbo competes with the less expensive versions of small SUVs like the Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite. In the coming months, the Hyundai Exter will also be a competitor in this area. You can learn more about it here.
