Bengaluru-based EV startup Oben Electric is gearing up to launch its second electric motorcycle, which will be built on a newly developed modular platform called ‘O100’ (pronounced “O-hundred”). This upcoming model is expected to carry an ex-showroom price tag of under ₹1 lakh, positioning it as a more affordable alternative to Oben’s existing lineup.
The new bike will be positioned below the company’s current models—the Rorr and Rorr EZ—both of which are based on Oben’s earlier ARX platform. While the Rorr EZ is offered in three variants with battery capacities ranging from 2.6kWh to 4.4kWh, the upcoming O100-based model will target a different segment altogether.
Oben is aiming to tap into the high-volume 100cc-equivalent motorcycle category, which represents nearly 30% of India’s two-wheeler market. The O100 platform has been designed to be modular and scalable, with the flexibility to support a range of battery configurations and future variants across different segments.
Once introduced, this new electric bike will go head-to-head with rivals like the Revolt RV1 and RV BlazeX in the affordable EV commuter segment.
Note: All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, India.
