To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi has introduced the SU7 electric sedan to the Indian market. Originally unveiled globally in December of the previous year, the SU7 showcases impressive specs and design features.
Performance and Range
The Xiaomi SU7 boasts an exceptional range of up to 830 kilometers according to the CLTC. The all-wheel-drive variant delivers 673 horsepower and 838Nm of torque. However, there is no official confirmation regarding its launch date in India.
Exterior and Interior Design
Designed in-house by Sawyer Li, Xiaomi’s head of design, the SU7 draws inspiration from notable models like the Porsche Taycan and BYD Seal. Li, who previously contributed to the design of the BMW iX and Circular Vision Concept, has given the SU7 a sleek and aerodynamic form with a drag coefficient of just 0.195. The sedan measures 4,997mm in length, 1,963mm in width, and 1,440mm in height. The interior is minimalistic, featuring a large central touchscreen, a digital driver’s display, a substantial head-up display, and a panoramic glass roof.
Battery and Performance Specifications
In China, the SU7 is offered with three battery options:
- A 73.6kWh battery providing up to 700km of range with rear-wheel drive.
- A 94.3kWh battery offering up to 830km of range, also with rear-wheel drive.
- A 101kWh battery powering dual electric motors in the SU7 Max trim, offering an 800km range and all-wheel drive.
The top-of-the-line SU7 Max delivers 673 horsepower and 838Nm of torque, achieving 0-100kph in just 2.78 seconds. The rear-wheel-drive versions produce 299 horsepower and 400Nm of torque. The SU7 Max can reach a top speed of 265kph.
