Mahindra, the renowned SUV manufacturer, has provided insights into its current order backlog for its popular SUV lineup, highlighting significant figures for the Scorpio N and Classic models. As of May 1, the company reported a total of 2.20 lakh open orders, with the Scorpio range comprising the largest portion at 86,000 units. While this backlog represents a slight decrease from the previous report on February 1, it’s noteworthy that pending orders for Scorpio models have notably decreased by almost 15%, indicating dynamic market trends and customer preferences.

Order Details:

Mahindra revealed that the combined bookings for the Scorpio N and Classic models average around 17,000 per month. Despite this considerable demand, the company has successfully managed to reduce the waiting period for Scorpio N variants to a range of 3 to 5 months, down from a maximum of 9 months previously. On the other hand, the waiting period for the Scorpio Classic remains relatively unchanged, with a maximum waiting time of five months.

Model Specifications and Pricing:

The Scorpio N offers customers two engine options: a potent 203hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine or a robust 175hp, 2.2-litre diesel engine. Both variants are available with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or an automatic transmission, with 4WD exclusively offered with the diesel engine configuration. The pricing for the Scorpio N ranges from Rs 13.60 lakh to Rs 24.54 lakh, ex-showroom India.

In contrast, the Scorpio Classic is equipped with a dependable 132hp, 300Nm, 2.2-litre diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Unlike its counterpart, there are no options for an automatic transmission or 4WD. The pricing for the Scorpio Classic falls between Rs 13.59 lakh and Rs 17.35 lakh.

Mahindra’s recent order backlog update underscores the continued popularity of its Scorpio lineup, with both the Scorpio N and Classic models attracting significant demand from customers. As SUV enthusiasts eagerly anticipate their orders, Mahindra remains poised to deliver on its promise of quality and2 performance.
