KTM has introduced its highly anticipated 1390 Super Duke R in India, priced at ₹22.96 lakh. This powerful new entry will compete with top-tier performance bikes, such as the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS, Ducati Streetfighter V4 S, and BMW S1000 R.
KTM 1390 Super Duke R: Key Specs and Features
The KTM 1390 Super Duke R boasts a newly developed 1,350cc V-twin engine, delivering an impressive 190 hp at 10,000 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. Equipped with advanced electronics, the bike features traction control, launch control, wheelie control, multiple riding modes, and a bi-directional quickshifter for smooth gear shifts. Suspension is handled by a WP USD fork up front and a WP monoshock at the rear, while braking duties are managed by dual 320mm front discs and a 240mm rear disc for optimal stopping power.
Design and Dimensions
The 1390 Super Duke R sports a bold, aggressive design with a distinctive LED headlamp, a 17.5-litre fuel tank, sharp angular lines, and minimal bodywork for a muscular stance. The bike has a seat height of 834mm and a dry weight of 200kg (excluding fuel), giving it a solid, road-ready build. The 1390 Super Duke R will be available at KTM’s flagship stores in seven cities across India, starting with Bangalore and Pune.
Demo Mode Feature
One of the unique aspects of the 1390 Super Duke R is KTM’s “Demo Mode.” This pay-to-enable feature allows riders to test out various electronic aids and rider-assistance systems for the first 1,500 km before committing to them. During this trial, riders can experience options like multiple riding modes (including an optional Rally mode), traction control, slide control, a quickshifter for both up and downshifts, and cruise control. After the trial, riders can permanently unlock the features they prefer at an additional cost, though the exact pricing for these upgrades has yet to be announced by KTM.
