Jaguar Tcs Racing Ready for Inaugural Greenko Hyderabad E-prix as Formula E Debuts in India

Hyderabad, 06 February 2023 – This weekend, the 2023 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will be held for the first time in Hyderabad, India. This is where Jaguar TCS Racing will show off their new Jaguar I-TYPE 6 for the first time.
The Greenko Hyderabad E-Prix, the first of four brand new race locations for Season 9 of the all-electric world championship, will start at 15:00 local time on Saturday, February 11. The race takes place on a 2.83-kilometer street course that goes around the heart-shaped Hussain Sagar Lake. There are 32 laps.

After doing well at the Diriyah double-header in January, drivers Mitch Evans and Sam Bird are trying to get more points and podiums. Sam got third and fourth place in rounds two and three, while Mitch got points by finishing tenth and seventh. Mitch also did well in qualifying and the beginning of round three, when he took the lead from the first corner.

Jaguar TCS Racing has announced a new partnership with AERO, who will join as an Official Supplier. AERO is a revolutionary paint company that offers a radical alternative to traditional car paint. It does this by using advanced, film-based material technologies and a manufacturing and application process that is very streamlined and good for the environment. The new black, white, and gold asymmetric livery of the Jaguar I-TYPE 6 uses AERO’s self-healing film system.

AERO’s technology is based on the chemistry of urethane films, which are tougher than other coating systems and 60% lighter than paints that are sprayed on. This makes the technology very durable and light. AERO’s product is like the team’s participation in the world’s first net carbon zero sport because it is good for the environment. It gives off no carbon, has no volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and doesn’t have any polyvinyl chloride (PVC) compounds.

James Barclay, the team leader for Jaguar TCS Racing, said, “Ever since the race schedule for 2023 was released, the whole team has been looking forward to Hyderabad.” The next three Formula E races will be held in places that have never been used before, and as a team, we like taking on new challenges.

Hyderabad is a new challenge for our drivers and engineers, and it is also a home race for Tata and our title partner, TCS. As proud members of the Tata Group, racing in India means a lot to us. Before this weekend’s race, we are also happy to announce our new partnership with AERO. We are very excited to race with a partner who is both focused on performance and setting new standards for sustainability.

Mitch Evans, driver of the #9 car for Jaguar TCS Racing, said, “I’m always excited to see a new track, and Hyderabad is no different. We always face challenges when we race on new surfaces or in different climates, but we’ve had a lot of success when we’ve raced at new tracks in the past. Last year was the first time I raced in Jakarta and Seoul, and I won both of them. If we can win again this weekend in Hyderabad, we can get some good points on the board.”

Sam Bird, driver of the #10 Jaguar TCS Racing car, said, “I’m really happy with how I did in Diriyah. I got on the podium and had the fastest lap over the weekend’s two races. I’m turning that confidence into motivation to do even better in the fourth round, which will be in India. Hyderabad is going to be a very important race for the whole team, and I’m ready to show what I can do.

Phil Charles, the Technical Manager for Jaguar TCS Racing, said, “The team has spent a lot of time on the simulator to get used to this new track.” It looks great: the pavement is good, and there are only a few bumps from the start/finish line to T1. T3 has a complicated and interesting way to get in, and several corners have tricky ways to get in and out at the same time. On top of that, the air temperature will be around 30 degrees, which will make things hard for the drivers. With a high average power duty cycle over the course of a lap, it will also be hard on the car’s tyres and other parts. It looks like people could pass in T3 and T6, so the race should be exciting.”

James E. McGuire Jr., CEO of AERO Sustainable Material Technology, said, “AERO has always been a great fit for motorsport because it is lightweight, durable, and looks good.” Also, our patented and patent-pending technologies and manufacturing processes have greatly reduced or eliminated the negative effects that traditional spray paints have on the environment.

This makes it an obvious choice for anyone who wants to protect the environment and make it more sustainable and circular. Jaguar TCS Racing is a great partner because they compete in Formula E, the world’s first sport with no carbon emissions. Our performance differentiators will help them reach their goal of making the “lightest, fastest, and most efficient electric Jaguar race car.”

Round four of the 2023 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will be held in Hyderabad, India, on February 11, 2023, at 15:00 local time. Jaguar TCS Racing will be there.
