Hyundai has refreshed its Exter SUV lineup for 2025, introducing a new SX Tech trim, enhancing existing variants, and reconfiguring its CNG offerings. The Exter continues to have a starting price of ₹6 lakh for the base EX variant, while the range now tops out at ₹9.53 lakh with the new SX Tech dual-cylinder CNG model.
Key Highlights of the 2025 Hyundai Exter:
- New SX Tech Variant: Features keyless entry, automatic climate control, dashcam with dual cameras, and an 8-inch touchscreen.
- Updated S and S+ Variants: Now equipped with a rear camera, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and a touchscreen infotainment system.
- Revised CNG Lineup: The Exter CNG is now offered in S Executive, S+ Executive, and SX Tech trims, with dual-cylinder configurations for all but the base variant.
Hyundai Exter SX Tech: Features and Positioning
The new SX Tech trim sits just below the SX(O) and SX(O) Connect variants and is available with petrol manual, petrol AMT, and CNG manual options. It brings premium features such as a sunroof, projector headlamps, and a modern infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. However, it skips some premium additions found in the SX(O) variant, including ambient lighting, wireless charging, leatherette seats, and a rear wiper. Positioned ₹44,000 below the SX(O), the SX Tech offers a well-balanced feature set at a more accessible price.
Upgrades to the S and S+ Variants
The mid-range S variant now gains a rear camera, stability control features, and hill-start assist, alongside 15-inch dual-tone wheel covers and an upgraded 8-inch touchscreen system. These additions come with a price increase of approximately ₹15,000.
The S+ variant also benefits from a rear camera, along with existing features such as a sunroof, rear AC vents, and power-adjustable ORVMs. Prices for the S+ variant have increased by up to ₹13,000.
2025 Hyundai Exter CNG: More Choices, Dual-Cylinder Tech
Hyundai has restructured its CNG lineup, replacing the S CNG and S Duo CNG variants with the new S Executive CNG, available in both single-cylinder and dual-cylinder versions (₹8,000 premium for the latter). The range now culminates in the SX Tech CNG variant, which is ₹5,000 costlier than the outgoing Exter CNG SX Dual Knight. Other than the entry-level S trim, all Exter CNG variants now feature the innovative dual-cylinder technology introduced in mid-2024.
With these updates, Hyundai aims to enhance the appeal of the Exter by offering a wider range of features across trims while keeping the pricing competitive.
