Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India registers 296,363-unit sales in January 2023

Mumbai, February 02, 2023: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) released its sales numbers for January 2023 today. For the month, HMSI sold a total of 296,363 units. Of these, 278,143 were sold in the United States and 18,220 were sold in other countries.

Mr. Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President, and CEO of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, talked about how sales went in January 23. He said, “HMSI recently launched its first OBD2 model, the New Activa with Smart Key, well before the government’s deadline. HMSI will soon update its other products so that they meet the most up-to-date standards and keep it at the front of this change. Also, the budget presented today shed light on the increased focus on vehicle scrapping, green mobility, and Net-Zero carbon emission goals. This shows the future of mobility in the country and gives a plan to boost the Indian auto sector. We are hopeful that these kinds of projects will help the industry grow.”

Key Highlights of January 2023:

With the launch of the Honda Activa 2023, HMSI made history in the Indian two-wheeler industry by introducing the world-famous Honda Smart Key for the first time in India. This made the Activa 2023 smarter and more advanced.

Premium Motorcycle Business Network Expansion: HMSI opened Honda BigWing stores in Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Anna Nagar (Tamil Nadu), and Kolkata. This made its premium business network stronger all over the country (West Bengal).

Road Safety: HMSI celebrated the 7th anniversary of its Traffic Training Park in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. In those 7 years, it has taught more than 2.6 lakh people how to drive safely. The company also held awareness camps in the cities of Vidisha (in the state of Madhya Pradesh) and Bassi (Rajasthan).

CSR: HMSI took young students to its Global Resource Factory in Manesar to see how it works (Haryana). Under this programme, the company set up presentations, a practical guided tour of the company’s manufacturing facility, and engaging sessions by HMSI’s experts in the fields of health, road safety, and motorsports. At the same time, the Honda India Foundation, which is the CSR arm of all Honda group companies in India, gave 30 water tanks to 30 villages in Uklana (Haryana).

Pablo Quintanilla, a rider for the Monster Energy Honda Team, came in fourth at the Dakar Rally 2023. Two more Honda riders, Adrien van Beveren and José Ignacio Cornejo, finished fifth and eighth, respectively, to round out the top ten.
