Ducati XDiavel V4 Launched in India at Rs 30.89 Lakh: Price, Engine, Features Explained

Ducati has launched the XDiavel V4 in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 30.89 lakh, marking a major evolution of its sport-cruiser line-up. The new model replaces the XDiavel 1260 S and brings Ducati’s latest V4 Granturismo engine, updated hardware and a lighter chassis, while retaining the low-slung, muscle-cruiser stance that defines the XDiavel nameplate.

Ducati XDiavel V4: Key Highlights

  • 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine producing 168hp and 126Nm

  • 0–100kph in under 3 seconds

  • Kerb weight of 229kg with a 770mm seat height

  • Now features a chain drive instead of a belt

New V4 Granturismo Engine: More Power, Less Weight

At the heart of the XDiavel V4 is Ducati’s 1,158cc V4 Granturismo motor, derived from the brand’s Desmosedici lineage. This engine uses a counter-rotating crankshaft to improve stability and agility, while rear-cylinder deactivation helps reduce heat and improve fuel efficiency during low-speed riding.

Unlike Ducati’s traditional desmodromic valve systems, the Granturismo engine uses conventional spring valves, extending valve clearance intervals to an impressive 60,000km. Despite its performance focus, Ducati claims the engine offers strong low-end torque and smooth urban rideability.

Cruiser Ergonomics with a Sporty Edge

True to its cruiser identity, the XDiavel V4 features forward-set foot pegs, a swept-back handlebar and a relaxed riding triangle. For riders who prefer a sportier posture, mid-mounted foot pegs are available as an official accessory.

Ducati has also improved pillion comfort with a wider and more supportive rear seat. At 770mm, the seat height is 20mm lower than the standard Diavel V4, making the XDiavel more accessible to a wider range of riders.

Chassis, Suspension and Braking

The XDiavel V4 rides on a lightweight chassis with a single-sided swingarm and fully adjustable suspension at both ends. Braking duties are handled by Brembo Stylema calipers paired with 330mm twin front discs, offering strong stopping power.

Despite its massive 240-section rear tyre, Ducati claims improved handling and stability, aided by a 6kg weight reduction (wet, without fuel) compared to the outgoing XDiavel 1260.

Electronics and Technology

The electronics package is comprehensive and premium, as expected at this price point. It includes:

  • Multiple riding and power modes

  • Cornering ABS

  • Traction control and wheelie control

  • Cruise control

  • Bidirectional quickshifter

All settings can be accessed via a 6.9-inch TFT display, which is shared with the Ducati Panigale V4, reinforcing the XDiavel V4’s performance credentials.

Ducati XDiavel V4 Price and Colours

The Ducati XDiavel V4 is offered in two colour options:

  • Red: Rs 30.89 lakh

  • Black Lava: Rs 31.20 lakh

This makes the XDiavel V4 over Rs 1.80 lakh more expensive than the standard Diavel V4, reflecting its cruiser-focused design, unique ergonomics and distinct styling.

Final Thoughts

With the XDiavel V4, Ducati has blended superbike-derived performance with laid-back cruiser ergonomics, creating one of the most powerful and technologically advanced cruisers on sale in India. It is aimed squarely at riders who want standout design, explosive acceleration and premium Italian engineering—without compromising on comfort or usability.
