Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP Launched at Rs 19.05 Lakh

Ducati India has introduced the range-topping Hypermotard 950 SP, priced at Rs 19.05 lakh. This model joins the existing lineup, which includes the Hypermotard RVE and the recently launched single-cylinder Hypermotard Mono 698.

Key Features of the Hypermotard 950 SP

  • Ohlins Suspension and Forged Aluminum Wheels: The SP variant features premium Ohlins suspension units, replacing the Marzocchi/Sachs setup found on the standard model. The Ohlins USD fork is now a robust 48mm unit, up from 45mm, with increased wheel travel from 170mm to 185mm. The rear Ohlins monoshock also sees an increase in wheel travel from 150mm to 175mm. Additionally, the bike is equipped with lighter Marchesini forged wheels, contributing to a 2kg weight reduction.
  • Dimensions and Weight: The SP is 2kg lighter than the RVE, but with a full 14.5-liter fuel tank, it exceeds 200kg. The seat height is now 890mm, a 20mm increase over the RVE, due to the enhanced suspension travel.
  • Performance and Tyres: The SP retains the 937cc L-twin engine, producing 114hp and 96Nm of torque. It features Pirelli Supercorsa SP tyres, offering better grip compared to the Pirelli Rosso 3 tyres on the RVE.
  • Design and Visuals: Visually similar to the RVE, the SP stands out with unique SP graphics and distinct Marchesini wheel designs.

Pricing and Positioning

Priced at Rs 19.05 lakh, the Hypermotard 950 SP is Rs 3 lakh more expensive than the Hypermotard 950 RVE. It is one of the priciest Ducati models with the 937cc L-twin engine, outpricing the DesertX and Multistrada V2 S, with only the SuperSport S and DesertX Rally being more expensive.

Conclusion

The Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP represents an ultra-exclusive version of the already niche Hypermotard lineup, offering enthusiasts in India an opportunity to own a high-end, performance-oriented motorcycle with top-tier components and aggressive styling.
