BMW X3 Set to Debut at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

The highly anticipated fourth-generation BMW X3 is scheduled to make its India debut in January 2025, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, running from January 17 to 22. Known by its codename G45, the latest X3 is built on a new platform and showcases a refreshed design language, both inside and out, alongside an array of advanced features.

Powertrain Options for India

BMW has tailored the new X3 for the Indian market with a choice of entry-level petrol and diesel powertrains. The X3 20 xDrive is equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a mild-hybrid system, delivering 208hp and 330Nm of torque. This enables the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100kph in a claimed 7.8 seconds, reaching a top speed of 215kph. The diesel-powered 20d xDrive features a 2.0-litre engine, also with a mild-hybrid system, producing 197hp and 400Nm of torque. It manages the 0-100kph sprint in 7.7 seconds. Both versions come with all-wheel drive (AWD) and an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission as standard.

Design and Interior Upgrades

Revealed in June 2024, the fourth-gen X3 adopts design cues from BMW’s Vision Neue Klasse X concept, while also echoing elements of the latest X1. The new model features a sleeker, more aerodynamic profile compared to its predecessor, though the signature BMW kidney grille remains prominent, now enhanced with LED illumination. India-spec models are expected to come with 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the new X3 is equipped with BMW’s curved display, incorporating the iDrive 9 infotainment system, first introduced on the latest X1. The cabin also includes newly designed heated sport seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and a woven fabric instrument panel. More details about the feature set will be revealed closer to the official launch date.

As with previous models, the X3 will continue to compete against the Mercedes GLC and Audi Q5 in the Indian luxury SUV segment.
