Audi has introduced the updated Q7 in India, with prices starting at ₹88.66 lakh for the base variant and going up to ₹97.81 lakh for the Technology trim (introductory, ex-showroom). This marks the second refresh for the current-generation Q7, which originally debuted in 2015. Assembly of the facelifted model is underway at Audi’s Aurangabad facility, with bookings having recently commenced.
Exterior Highlights
Unveiled globally in January 2024, the Q7 facelift brings a host of cosmetic updates to extend the model’s lifecycle. Key changes include:
- Sleek OLED headlamps with customizable lighting signatures, inspired by the Q6 e-tron.
- A redesigned hexagonal grille with a bold chrome surround.
- Sportier bumpers, reminiscent of the larger Q8 SUV.
The facelift also offers five striking exterior colors: Sakhir Gold, Waitomo Blue, Mythos Black, Samurai Grey, and Glacier White.
Interior Updates
The Q7’s interior retains its familiar layout but benefits from subtle upgrades:
- New upholstery options in Cedar Brown and Saiga Beige.
- Enhanced infotainment features and Audi’s updated Virtual Cockpit with integrated lane-change warning.
- Connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, although still wired.
Despite these additions, the overall cabin design remains consistent with its predecessor.
Powertrain and Performance
The refreshed Q7 continues with the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, delivering 340hp and 500Nm of torque. Paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system, the SUV boasts impressive performance figures:
- 0-100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds.
- Top speed of 250 km/h.
Audi had phased out diesel engines in India, leaving this petrol unit as the sole powertrain option for the Q7.
Competitors
As a premium three-row SUV, the Audi Q7 facelift takes on rivals such as:
- BMW X5 (₹97 lakh–₹99 lakh).
- Mercedes-Benz GLE (₹97.85 lakh).
- Volvo XC90 (₹1.01 crore).
With its updated design, luxurious interiors, and robust performance, the Q7 aims to remain a compelling choice in this competitive segment.
