Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd (TPEM), a subsidiary of Tata Motors, today unveiled the Punch.ev, marking a significant milestone in India’s electric vehicle (EV) sector. As TPEM’s first pure EV, the Punch.ev is based on the innovative Pure EV architecture, acti.ev, blending advanced technology, eco-consciousness, and cost-effectiveness.
Distinct Features and Pricing
The Punch.ev is offered in three versions – Smart, Adventure, and Empowered, each embodying versatility and sophistication in a classic SUV design. Starting at an introductory price of INR 10.99 Lakh, the vehicle is available across Tata Motors showrooms and Tata.ev stores nationwide.

The Punch.ev aims to propel India into a new era of pure electric vehicles, supporting the nation’s environmental goals.
Specifications and Performance
The Punch.ev offers two battery pack options – 25 kWh and 35 kWh, providing ranges of 315 km and 421 km, respectively. It features a 60kW or 90kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous AC Motor, with an impressive acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds and a top speed of 140km/h. The vehicle’s IP67-rated battery pack and motor come with an 8-year or 1,60,000 km warranty.
Charging Options
For enhanced convenience, the Punch.ev supports both AC and DC fast charging. The Long Range (LR) variant includes options for a 3.3kW or 7.2 kW AC fast charger, and can be fast charged from 10% to 80% in 56 minutes using a 50 kW DC fast charger.
Innovative Design and Digital Integration
The Punch.ev boasts a digital-first design, integrating dual 26cm high-definition screens for infotainment and cockpit display, and a Phygital control panel. It offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with smartwatch connectivity through the ZConnect technology.
Enhanced Safety and Comfort
Safety is a priority with features like 6 Airbags, Electronic Stability Program, and Roll-over mitigation. Comfort is also paramount, with ventilated leatherette seats, an electric sunroof, and mood lighting. The Punch.ev comes equipped with Paddle Shifters, enabling 4-level Multi-Mode Regeneration.
acti.ev Architecture
The Punch.ev is the inaugural vehicle to use the made-in-India Pure EV architecture acti.ev, focusing on performance, technology, modularity, and space efficiency. It represents a blend of Powertrain, Chassis, Electrical, and Cloud Architecture layers.
