2023 Tata Harrier and Safari Facelift Launch: Upgraded Design, Features, and Prices

Tata Motors is all set to launch the 2023 facelifted versions of their popular Harrier and Safari SUVs on October 17. These updated models come with significant design changes and a plethora of new features, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology. While Tata has introduced numerous updates to both the Harrier and Safari, the powertrain remains the same, relying on the reliable 2.0-liter diesel engine. Design Updates

Tata Motors has revamped the appearance of the 2023 Harrier and Safari. Notable design changes include a fresh parametric grille, integrated LED daytime running lights (DRLs), and connected LED taillights, all of which play a significant role in the new design language of these SUVs. Additionally, both models feature redesigned alloy wheels while maintaining their familiar overall silhouettes.

Interior Enhancements

The interior of both the Harrier and Safari has undergone substantial transformations. The cabins now sport new upholstery and a range of new features. The dashboard boasts a new wood trim finish, and there is a generous use of gloss black accents throughout the cabin, elevating the premium feel. In the Safari, the second-row seats come with comfortable headrests, enhancing passenger comfort.

Feature Updates

The updated Harrier and Safari are packed with features that could give their Korean rivals a run for their money. Notable highlights include a new four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, touch-based HVAC controls on the dashboard, a new 12.30-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and an updated 10.25-inch digital driver display capable of showing navigation. In the Safari, the front two-row seats offer ventilation features, while both SUVs come equipped with electronically adjustable driver seats featuring memory functions. For music enthusiasts, these SUVs now come with a 10-speaker JBL sound system, powered by Harmon AudioworX.

Safety Features

Both the Harrier and Safari are expected to achieve a five-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP or other crash tests, thanks to the addition of several new safety features. These SUVs will offer up to seven airbags, including one for the driver’s knees. Furthermore, they are equipped with level-2 ADAS technology, providing 17 assistive driving features. Additional safety features include ABS with EBD, ESP, a tire pressure monitoring system, cruise control, driver attention alert, hill descent control, and emergency call and breakdown alerts, among others.

Powertrain

The 2023 Harrier and Safari will continue to be powered by Tata Motors’ reliable 2.0-liter diesel engine. This engine is available with either a 6-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission, producing 167.6 bhp of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. It offers three driving modes: Eco, City, and Sport, as well as three traction modes: Normal, Rough, and Wet.
