The Tata Altroz CNG is about to launch in India, and some dealerships have already received the vehicle ahead of its official launch. Bookings for the premium hatchback with a CNG kit have been open since April, and it made its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo.
Design and Features
The showcased Altroz CNG model features a Downtown Red finish, dual-tone alloy wheels, and a sunroof. It is the top-spec XZ+ (S) variant and comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, push-button start/stop, auto climate control, and rain-sensing wipers.
The Altroz CNG also has a height-adjustable driver seat, a four-speaker sound system with two tweeters, and a keyless entry.
Safety features include dual airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, a reversing camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Powertrain Details
The Altroz CNG will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a power output of 73.5PS/103Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and can start up in CNG mode. In petrol mode, it can produce 88PS and 115Nm of torque.
Boot Space and CNG Cylinder Arrangement
The showcased Altroz CNG model images also reveal the car’s boot space, which is 210 litres. The arrangement of the twin CNG cylinders under the luggage area is also visible in the pictures.
Expected Price and Competitors
The Altroz CNG is expected to command a premium of around one lakh over the corresponding petrol-only variants. Its main competitors will be the Maruti Baleno CNG and Toyota Glanza CNG.

Interested buyers can check with Tata Motors or authorized dealerships for the latest updates on the Altroz CNG’s availability and pricing. The vehicle is expected to go on sale soon after its official launch.
