Maruti Suzuki, the largest automaker in India, has issued a recall affecting 17,362 vehicles.
The company issued a statement saying that it was recalling vehicles produced between December 8, 2022 and January 12, 2023. Alto K10, S-Presso, Eeco, Brezza, Baleno, and Grand Vitara are the impacted vehicles.
Airbag Controllers (“affected part”) are being inspected and replaced at no cost to customers in this recall.
“In the event of a collision, the airbags and seat belt pretensioners may not activate due to a probable flaw in the concerned item. Vehicle owners who have reason to suspect a problem are being urged to take every precaution and avoid using their cars until the faulty component has been replaced “The statement went on to elaborate.
Auto owners whose vehicles are affected will hear from official Maruti Suzuki service centres.
The car company recalled over 5,000 vehicles in September for defective seatbelts, and another 9,125 vehicles in December for faults in the front row seat belts.
