Volkswagen has launched the updated Taigun facelift in India at a starting price of Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom), going up to Rs 19.3 lakh. The refreshed compact SUV brings subtle design revisions, new features, improved gearbox options and added safety equipment.
The company has also introduced an assured buyback scheme offering 75 percent of the ex-showroom value for up to 3 years or 30,000km. This scheme is valid on bookings made till May 31, 2026.

The Taigun facelift is slightly more expensive than its sibling, the Skoda Kushaq facelift, and is also priced higher than the new Renault Duster in terms of entry-level pricing.
Engine and performance updates
The Taigun facelift continues with the same turbo-petrol engine options:
- 1.0-litre TSI producing 115hp
- 1.5-litre TSI producing 150hp
The key update is the introduction of a new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox for the 1.0 TSI engine.
Claimed fuel efficiency figures are:
- 1.0 TSI MT: 19.98 kmpl
- 1.0 TSI AT: 19.54 kmpl
- 1.5 TSI DCT: 18.85 kmpl
Higher variants now also get rear disc brakes, which improves braking performance.
Exterior design changes
The facelift brings noticeable updates to the front while retaining the overall silhouette.
- New LED headlights and revised front bumper
- Updated alloy wheel designs
- Redesigned rear LED light bar with sequential indicators
- Illuminated Volkswagen logo at the front and rear
- New colour options including Avocado Pearl and Steel Grey
Interior and features
The cabin layout remains largely unchanged, but there are important feature additions.
New features include:
- 10.25-inch digital driver’s display
- Panoramic sunroof
- Updated 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system
Existing features continue to include ventilated front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting, wireless charging and a 6-speaker sound system.
Volkswagen has also improved air-conditioning performance with a variable geometry compressor.
Rivals
The Volkswagen Taigun facelift competes in the midsize SUV segment with models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Toyota Hyryder and the new Renault Duster.
Verdict
The Taigun facelift brings meaningful updates in terms of features, gearbox options and safety improvements. While pricing remains on the higher side, the added equipment and buyback scheme make it a stronger overall package in the segment.
