The full pricing details will be revealed in January 2025, shortly before the SUV reaches showrooms. Note that the charger cost is not included in the base price. The XEV 9e is the larger and more premium of the two electric SUVs launched by Mahindra today, alongside the BE 6e, which starts at ₹18.90 lakh.

Dimensions and Design

The XEV 9e is designed to stand out with its bold, futuristic styling and commanding presence. At 4,790mm in length, it surpasses the XUV700, while the 2,775mm wheelbase and 207mm ground clearance enhance practicality. The coupe-SUV features: a sleek, blanked-out grille complemented by an LED light bar spanning its width. Flush door handles and a muscular shoulder line for a premium aesthetic. Specially designed aero-optimized 19-inch alloys (20-inch optional). Connected LED tail-lights under a boot spoiler and an illuminated Mahindra ‘Infinity’ logo.

Interior and Features

The cabin emphasizes modernity and sophistication, with a unique three-screen dashboard setup—each 12.3 inches in size—running Mahindra’s Adrenox software. Key interior highlights include: a flat-bottom two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo. 665-litre boot space and a 150-litre front trunk (frunk). Premium options like a panoramic sunroof, 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos, and a head-up display (HUD). Top trims come equipped with Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, park assist, and blind-spot monitoring. The entry-level Pack One variant offers a strong set of features, including: Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, and a push-button start. Automatic climate control with rear AC vents. Essential safety features such as 6 airbags, reverse camera, and electronic parking brake.

Performance and Range

The XEV 9e is built on Mahindra’s scalable INGLO platform, shared with the BE 6e. It is powered by two battery options: 59kWh unit: 231hp motor. 79kWh unit: 286hp motor, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.7 seconds. Charging is quick and convenient, with the batteries capable of a 20-80% recharge in just 20 minutes using a 175kW DC fast charger. Range figures: MIDC cycle: Up to 656km with the larger battery. WLTP cycle: 533km. Real-world tests indicate the XEV 9e delivers over 500km per charge, making it a practical choice for long-distance drives.
