Ola Electric has expanded its S1 series with the introduction of the budget-friendly S1 Z electric scooter. The base S1 Z is priced at Rs 59,999, while the higher-spec S1 Z+ variant costs Rs 64,999.
Performance and Range
The S1 Z stands out with its modular battery setup, featuring dual 1.5kWh battery packs. Impressively, it can operate on a single battery, offering a certified range of 75km. When equipped with both batteries, the range extends to 146km. The scooter is powered by a hub-mounted motor delivering a peak output of 3kW. Ola claims a top speed of 70kph and a 0-40kph acceleration time of 4.7 seconds.
Design and Features
Sporting a fresh, boxy design, the S1 Z also introduces some unique touches. The Z+ variant includes practical accessories like front and rear luggage racks, a visor, and a pillion footrest. Both variants come with 14-inch wheels, an uncommon feature in the e-scooter segment, shared only by the River Indie in India.
For connectivity, the S1 Z is equipped with an LCD display that pairs with smartphones via Bluetooth. However, details such as weight, dimensions, and charging time are yet to be disclosed by Ola.
Pricing and Availability
Starting at Rs 59,999, the S1 Z series is among the most affordable electric or petrol two-wheelers in the Indian market. Deliveries are expected to begin in May 2025.
