2025 Maruti Grand Vitara Updated with More Affordable Hybrid, New AWD Automatic Variants

Following Toyota’s recent update to the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki has refreshed its Grand Vitara SUV for 2025 with a series of important upgrades. The updated Grand Vitara now boasts wider availability of its strong hybrid powertrain, enhanced safety features, and the addition of an automatic gearbox for its all-wheel-drive variants. Prices for the revised lineup start at Rs 11.42 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Key Highlights:

  • 6 airbags now standard across all variants

  • Panoramic sunroof offered as an option on select trims

  • More affordable strong-hybrid variant introduced

  • AWD variant now available with automatic transmission

Strong Hybrid Made More Accessible

Maruti Suzuki has expanded the reach of its strong-hybrid powertrain with the introduction of a new Delta+ variant. Earlier, the hybrid option was limited to the premium Zeta+ and Alpha+ trims, starting at Rs 18.58 lakh. With the new Delta+ hybrid, the starting price for the hybrid version now begins at Rs 16.99 lakh, making it more budget-friendly.

All-Wheel Drive Now Comes with Automatic Transmission

In a notable update for enthusiasts, the previously manual-only AWD version paired with the 1.5-litre petrol engine now gets a 6-speed automatic gearbox, improving both ease of use and driving comfort, especially in tough terrains.

Panoramic Sunroof Now Optional

The panoramic sunroof, previously a standard feature on higher trims, is now offered as an optional add-on for Rs 60,000 on the Zeta, Alpha, Zeta+ and Alpha+ variants. This move gives buyers more flexibility in customizing their SUV.

  • ISOFIX child seat mounts

  • 3-point seatbelts for all passengers

Added Convenience and Premium Touches

Maruti has also enhanced the feature list with several premium and comfort-oriented upgrades, though it hasn’t specified trim-level availability. New additions include:

  • Electronic parking brake (for AT variants)

  • Air purifier with PM2.5 filter

  • Rear window sunshades

  • New LED cabin lighting

  • Redesigned 17-inch alloy wheels
