The long-awaited TVS Apache RTX 300 — the brand’s first true adventure tourer — is finally set to make its debut this month. TVS Motor Company has begun sending out media invites for a launch event on October 15, which industry insiders strongly believe will mark the arrival of the much-anticipated RTX 300.
A New Era for TVS: First Adventure Motorcycle
The Apache RTX 300 will be TVS’s first-ever adventure motorcycle, marking the company’s entry into a growing segment currently dominated by the likes of the BMW G 310 GS, KTM 390 Adventure, and Hero Xpulse 421. The RTX 300 has already been spotted testing multiple times over the past year, and its design appears to strike a balance between ruggedness and road-biased touring comfort — an approach that should appeal to a wide range of riders.
Powered by the All-New RT-XD4 Engine
At the heart of the upcoming ADV will be an all-new 300cc RT-XD4 engine, which TVS had first showcased at MotoSoul 2024. This newly developed single-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit is expected to produce 35hp at 9,000rpm and 28.5Nm of torque at 7,000rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. These figures put it in the same ballpark as its key rivals, hinting at strong touring performance and refinement.
The RT-XD4 platform is said to have been engineered for high-speed cruising, minimal vibrations, and strong low- to mid-range torque, making it well-suited for both highways and light off-road trails.
Adventure-Touring Focus
Spy shots and patent filings confirm that the Apache RTX 300 will ride on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, wrapped in dual-purpose tyres. This setup clearly indicates that the motorcycle will be a road-oriented adventure tourer, rather than a hardcore off-roader. Expect long-travel suspension, a comfortable upright riding position, and a tall windscreen to complement its touring character.
The motorcycle is also likely to feature all-LED lighting, ride-by-wire throttle, multiple ride modes, and switchable ABS — features already seen on the brand’s flagship sportbike, the Apache RR 310. A fully digital TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation support is also expected.
Expected Price and Rivals
Once launched, the TVS Apache RTX 300 is expected to be priced around ₹2.6–2.8 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it squarely against the Hero Xpulse 421, BMW G 310 GS, and KTM 390 Adventure X. If TVS manages to get the pricing right, the RTX 300 could become one of the most value-packed ADVs in the segment, especially with its new powertrain and strong touring credentials.
Final Thoughts
The upcoming Apache RTX 300 could be a game-changer for TVS, expanding the Apache lineup into the fast-growing adventure-touring space. With a brand-new engine platform, refined mechanicals, and a feature-rich package, it has the potential to attract both loyal Apache fans and new buyers seeking a versatile mid-capacity ADV.
All eyes are now on October 15, when TVS is expected to officially unveil the Apache RTX 300 — and possibly signal the start of an entirely new chapter for the brand.
