New Tata Nexon EV: Prices and Variant Breakdown

Tata Motors has launched the Nexon EV, starting at Rs 14.74 lakh for the basic Creative+ MR model, and going up to Rs 19.94 lakh for the top-tier Empowered+ LR variant. The Nexon EV comes with two battery options: a 30kWh Medium Range (MR) and a 40.5kWh Long Range (LR).

In terms of power, the Nexon EV features a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) that generates 129hp in MR versions and 145hp in LR versions. The torque output remains the same at 215Nm. There are three main trims: Creative, Fearless, and Empowered, each with its own unique color option.

Here’s a breakdown of what you get in each trim:

  1. Tata Nexon EV Creative+ (Rs 14.74 lakh)

    • 192hp PMSM motor with a 30kWh battery
    • LED daytime running lamps and tail lights
    • Express cooling
    • Height-adjustable driver’s seat

  2. Tata Nexon EV Fearless (Rs 16.19 lakh-18.19 lakh)

    • Additional to Creative+, it includes:
    • 10.25-inch touchscreen
    • Enhanced audio system
    • Projector LED headlights
    • Alloy wheels
    • Rear AC vents
    • Electrically adjustable wing mirrors
    • Various convenience features
  3. Tata Nexon EV Fearless+ (Rs 16.69 lakh-18.69 lakh)

    • Additional to Fearless, it includes:

    • Wireless charger
    • Hill descent control
    • More tech and convenience features
  4. Tata Nexon EV Fearless+ S (Rs 17.19 lakh-19.19 lakh)

    • Additional to Fearless+, it includes:

  5. Tata Nexon EV Empowered (Rs 17.84 lakh)

    • Additional to Empowered, it includes:
    • Air purifier

  6. Tata Nexon EV Empowered+ (Rs 19.94 lakh)

    • 145hp PMSM motor with a 40.5kWh battery

    • A larger 12.3-inch touchscreen
    • Emergency and Breakdown call assist

The Nexon EV competes with the Mahindra XUV400 EV, MG ZS EV, and Hyundai Kona Electric. It offers more features compared to its predecessor, making it a strong contender in the electric vehicle market, with a slight price increase. The Fearless+ trim stands out as it provides great value with a larger touchscreen, wireless connectivity, and other amenities, available with both MR and LR powertrains.
