Tata Motors to Launch 6 New Vehicles by FY2027: Sierra EV, Safari EV and Multiple Facelifts Incoming

Tata Motors is preparing an aggressive product expansion strategy for the Indian market, with six major launches planned by the end of FY2027. The upcoming portfolio will include two completely new vehicles along with four updated versions of existing models as the company strengthens both its ICE and EV lineup.

The move comes at a time when Tata is facing increasing competition in India’s rapidly growing electric vehicle segment. With rivals like Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai Motor Company and MG Motor expanding their EV offerings, Tata appears ready to refresh its mass-market range while also entering the premium electric SUV space.

Tata Sierra EV to Lead FY2027 Launches

The much-awaited Tata Sierra EV is expected to be the first major Tata launch of FY2027. Industry reports suggest the electric SUV could arrive between July and September 2026, shortly after the launch of the ICE-powered Sierra.

Positioned between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV, the Sierra EV will play a crucial role in Tata’s next-generation electric lineup. The SUV is expected to offer both 55kWh and 65kWh battery pack options. Tata may also provide multiple drivetrain configurations, including rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants.

The Sierra EV is likely to focus heavily on lifestyle appeal, premium interiors, advanced connected technology and improved range figures. Its retro-inspired design language combined with modern EV architecture could help Tata attract both urban buyers and enthusiasts looking for something distinctive in the midsize electric SUV segment.

Safari EV to Become Tata’s Flagship Electric SUV

Tata Safari EV is another important product in Tata’s future roadmap and is expected to launch during the festive season of 2026.

The all-electric Safari will become Tata’s first three-row EV and could emerge as the brand’s flagship electric offering in India. The SUV is expected to borrow several mechanical elements from the Harrier EV, including battery packs and drivetrain setups.

Reports indicate the Safari EV may use 65kWh and 75kWh battery options with both RWD and AWD configurations. Tata is expected to position the model as a premium family-focused electric SUV with long-distance capability and advanced features.

The launch could place Tata directly against upcoming premium electric SUVs from Mahindra, including the rumored XEV 9S.

Tiago and Tigor Facelifts Also Expected

Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor are also likely to receive major updates as part of Tata’s FY2027 strategy.

The Tiago and Tigor lineups — including their petrol, CNG and EV variants — have remained largely unchanged in recent years. Tata may now introduce refreshed styling, upgraded interiors and new technology features to keep them competitive in the entry-level segment.

Spy shots of the updated Tiago EV have already surfaced online, hinting at cosmetic revisions and possible feature additions.

One of the biggest expected upgrades is Tata’s latest 6-in-1 integrated EV powertrain technology, which recently debuted on the updated Punch EV. This new setup is designed to improve efficiency, packaging and overall driving performance.

Tata Avinya EV Could Debut in 2027

Avinya is finally expected to move closer to production during the second half of FY2027.

The first production-ready Avinya model may make its global debut at the 2027 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Unlike Tata’s current EVs that are based on modified ICE platforms, the Avinya range will use a dedicated born-electric skateboard architecture.

The first Avinya model is expected to be a large premium SUV with futuristic styling, spacious interiors and next-generation connected technology. Tata is likely targeting buyers looking for a more premium EV experience beyond the current Nexon EV and Harrier EV range.

Tata’s EV Push Continues to Grow

Tata Motors remains one of India’s strongest EV players, and its upcoming launches show the company’s intent to maintain that leadership position. From affordable hatchbacks to premium electric SUVs, Tata’s future lineup appears focused on covering multiple price segments.

The introduction of new EV platforms, AWD technology and larger battery packs also signals Tata’s shift toward more globally competitive electric vehicles.

With the Sierra EV, Safari EV and Avinya models in the pipeline, FY2027 could become one of the most important years yet for Tata’s passenger vehicle business in India.
