Tata Altroz Gets Feature Upgrades and Introduces Two New Trims

Tata Motors has expanded the Altroz hatchback lineup with the introduction of two new premium trims—XZ LUX and XZ+S LUX—alongside the launch of the Altroz Racer. Enhancements have also been made to the top-tier Altroz XZ+ OS trim.

2024 Tata Altroz Range: What’s New?

The new Altroz XZ LUX trim, priced from Rs 9 lakh, comes equipped with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen featuring a new operating system, a 360-degree camera, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. For an additional Rs 65,000, the XZ+S LUX trim, priced at Rs 9.65 lakh, adds four more airbags.

The top-spec XZ+ OS trim, previously starting at Rs 9.65 lakh, now costs Rs 9.99 lakh due to added features such as Tata’s advanced in-car connectivity technology and an air purifier.

Key Features

The updated 10.25-inch screen displays 360-degree camera footage. It’s important to note that these prices apply to the petrol-manual variants. The new trims are available in various configurations, including petrol-manual, petrol-DCT, CNG-MT, and diesel-MT.

The XZ+ OS trim remains exclusive to petrol variants and no longer includes leatherette seats, which are now reserved for the Altroz Racer. Other retained features include an electric sunroof, cruise control, rear AC vents, automatic climate control, 90-degree opening doors, auto headlamps, and rain-sensing wipers.

2024 Tata Altroz: Powertrains

The Altroz continues to offer an 88hp, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, and a 90hp, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine. The petrol engine is also available with an optional CNG kit. With the introduction of the Altroz Racer, the 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine previously available with the i-Turbo version has been discontinued. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and an optional 7-speed dual-clutch automatic for the petrol engine.

2024 Tata Altroz: Competitors

The Altroz remains in competition with models like the Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno, and Toyota Glanza. The new Altroz Racer specifically targets competitors such as the i20 N Line and Fronx Turbo.

These updates and new trims enhance the appeal of the Tata Altroz, offering a broader range of features and configurations to cater to diverse customer preferences.
