Suzuki enthusiasts in India have reason to rejoice as the highly anticipated launch of the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE draws closer. After undergoing rigorous testing last year and making a dazzling appearance at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year, the arrival of the V-Strom 800DE on Indian shores is imminent.
Powering this adventure-touring marvel is Suzuki’s cutting-edge liquid-cooled, 776cc, 270-crank parallel-twin engine, boasting an impressive output of 84.3 horsepower and 78Nm of torque.
Crafted on the foundation of Suzuki’s renowned steel frame, reminiscent of the GSX-8S naked bike, the V-Strom 800DE boasts a reinforced sub-frame, meticulously extended to accommodate both a pillion and luggage with ease. Despite its robust build, the V-Strom 800DE maintains agility, tipping the scales at 230kg with a generous 20-litre fuel tank, while seating riders at a commanding 855mm.
Showcasing its prowess on diverse terrains, the V-Strom 800DE is equipped with an adjustable front fork and a monoshock featuring remote preload adjustability, courtesy of Showa. Sporting an impressive ground clearance of 220mm and front and rear suspension travel, this adventurer promises unrivaled stability.

However, enthusiasts might lament the tubed Dunlop Mixtour rubber on the spoked wheels, reminiscent of its Japanese counterpart, the Honda Transalp 750.

As anticipation mounts for its imminent launch in India, industry insiders predict the V-Strom 800DE to be competitively priced within the realm of its rivals, such as the Honda Transalp 750 priced at Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom, Haryana), and the Triumph Tiger 850 Sport, retailing at Rs 11.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
