Suzuki India has announced a voluntary recall of the third-generation Hayabusa, a highly popular superbike in India, due to a potential front brake issue. This recall impacts units produced between March 2021 and September 2024.
The problem concerns potential excessive play in the front brake lever, which could cause the lever to contact the throttle grip and increase braking distance, posing a safety risk. A total of 1,056 units are affected by this recall.
Previous Hayabusa models were often noted for less powerful braking systems, but the third generation introduced Brembo Stylema calipers and larger 10mm discs to address these concerns. However, this recent issue highlights a new braking-related challenge for the model.
Suzuki has yet to release details on the exact fix or expected timeline for repairs. We’ve reached out to the company for further information and will update this space as soon as Suzuki provides additional details.
