Royal Enfield is all set to introduce the Classic 650 on March 27, blending the timeless appeal of the Classic 350 with the power of its renowned parallel-twin engine.
Classic 650: Key Highlights
- Shares its platform with the Shotgun 650
- Retro-styled wire-spoke wheels (19-inch front, 18-inch rear)
- Royal Enfield’s heaviest bike yet, tipping the scales at 243kg
Powertrain & Performance
The Classic 650 is powered by the trusted 648cc, air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine, delivering 47hp and 52Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. This engine also powers other Royal Enfield models, including the Super Meteor 650, Interceptor 650, and Continental GT 650.
While the Classic 650 retains the same gear ratios and final drive as the Shotgun 650, it features a distinct retro-inspired 19/18-inch wire-spoke wheel setup, unlike the Shotgun’s 18/17-inch alloys. It also debuts the new MRF Nylohigh tyres, developed specifically for this model.
Design & Features
Built on the same chassis as the Shotgun 650, the Classic 650 shares its frame, brakes, swingarm, and twin shock absorbers, offering 120mm front and 90mm rear suspension travel. With a weight of 243kg, it surpasses both the Super Meteor (241kg) and Shotgun (242kg), making it Royal Enfield’s heaviest motorcycle.
The Classic 650 will be available in four colours – Red, Blue, Teal, and Black Chrome. Pricing is expected to align with its 650cc siblings, with the Super Meteor starting at ₹3.64 lakh and the Shotgun at ₹3.59 lakh.
