Royal Enfield has officially trademarked the name “Bullet 650 Twin”, strongly suggesting that the iconic Bullet is set to receive a larger, more powerful sibling in the near future. While an official launch timeline remains under wraps, this trademark reinforces the long-standing rumours and spy sightings of the upcoming 650cc Bullet.
A Bigger Bullet in the Pipeline
The Bullet 650 is expected to share its underpinnings with the recently launched Classic 650, mirroring the relationship between the 350cc Bullet and Classic models. This means the core mechanical package—Royal Enfield’s familiar 648cc parallel-twin engine—will likely remain unchanged. This motor currently produces 47hp and 52.3Nm of torque, and features a signature two-into-two exhaust setup, which the Bullet 650 is also expected to carry.
Styling Will Set It Apart
Where the Bullet 650 will stand out is in its design. True to the model’s legacy, it is expected to feature a boxy rear fender, single-piece seat, and the classic hand-painted pinstripes that have been a hallmark of the Bullet series. These design elements will help differentiate it from the more retro-modern look of the Classic 650.
A Strategic Move by Royal Enfield
This trademark also confirms that despite Royal Enfield’s ongoing development of a new 750cc platform, the 648cc engine will continue to play a significant role in the company’s line-up. The Bullet 650 is poised to become another pillar in the brand’s expanding middleweight segment.
Expected Pricing
In terms of pricing, the Bullet 650 Twin is likely to be positioned close to the Classic 650, which currently ranges between Rs 3.37 lakh to Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom). However, given the Bullet’s more accessible image over the years, there’s a chance it could be priced slightly lower, offering a strong value proposition for fans of the iconic brand.
