New Mercedes-Benz CLA Set for Global Debut on March 13

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the all-new CLA will make its world premiere in production form on March 13. First introduced as a concept at the 2023 Munich Motor Show, the CLA also made an appearance at India’s Auto Expo 2025 earlier this year. Built on the brand’s Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA), this next-generation CLA marks the beginning of a new line-up of entry-level luxury models.

Sleek Exterior Inspired by the Concept

  • Minimal Changes from the Concept: Mercedes-Benz has stated that the production CLA will closely resemble its concept version, retaining much of its bold, futuristic styling.
  • Distinctive Design Elements: Spy shots of camouflaged test mules suggest the presence of wraparound LED headlamps featuring a signature three-pointed star DRL pattern, a full-width light bar above the grille, and a refreshed interpretation of the Mercedes-Benz front grille.
  • Sporty Coupe-Like Silhouette: At the rear, the CLA mirrors its front-end styling with an LED light bar uniting the tail lamps. Its low-slung stance, flared wheel arches, and coupe-inspired roofline further enhance its dynamic appeal.

Next-Gen Interior with MB.OS

While the production model’s interior remains under wraps, the concept previewed a cutting-edge “Superscreen” layout featuring three seamlessly connected displays. Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that this setup will be carried over, alongside the debut of its new MB.OS operating system. This advanced platform features a chip-to-cloud architecture and an AI-powered virtual assistant.

The CLA will also introduce Level 2 semi-autonomous driving capabilities with LiDAR sensors, over-the-air update compatibility, and a panoramic glass roof.

Electric Powertrain & Performance

  • Optimized for Electric Efficiency: Designed as an EV-first model, the CLA will feature a rear-mounted electric motor with a two-speed transmission in base variants, while higher-end 4MATIC versions will include an additional front-axle motor. The powertrain takes inspiration from the Vision EQXX concept.
  • Impressive Range & Charging Speed: Running on an 800V electrical system, the CLA can support ultra-fast charging up to 320kW, allowing it to add 300km of range in just 10 minutes. With an energy efficiency rating of 12kWh/100km, the sedan is expected to offer a remarkable range of around 750km on a single charge.
  • Mild-Hybrid Petrol Option: Following the EV launch, Mercedes will introduce a 1.5-litre four-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine, available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations.

The official unveiling of the new Mercedes-Benz CLA is just around the corner—stay tuned for all the details on this game-changing luxury sedan.
