New Kia Carnival Teased Ahead of October 3 Launch in India

Kia India has kicked off the teaser campaign for the upcoming Carnival MPV, set to launch on October 3. The new Carnival will initially arrive in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), with plans for local assembly in the future. Given its import status, the Carnival’s price is anticipated to exceed Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).

The first teaser from Kia highlights several features of the new Carnival for the Indian market. Notably, the new model will boast a significantly larger infotainment touchscreen, likely a 12.3-inch unit similar to international variants, alongside a matching 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Other features include dual sunroofs—one for the front and another for second-row passengers—along with front and rear dash cams, a head-up display, a digital inside rear-view mirror, and ambient lighting on the dashboard.

New Kia Carnival Sunroof and Variants

Kia dealerships across India have begun accepting unofficial bookings for the new Carnival with a fully refundable booking amount of Rs 1 lakh. Sources indicate that the launch will feature a single, fully loaded variant, with the MPV available in two or three exterior colors, including white and black.

Details such as seating configurations are yet to be confirmed; internationally, the Carnival is offered in 7-, 9-, and 11-seater options. While the current 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine is expected to continue, this has not been confirmed. Globally, the Carnival is available with a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol hybrid and a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine.

New Kia Carnival Infotainment and Pricing

As previously reported, the Carnival’s CBU import status means prices are expected to start above Rs 50 lakh at launch. This positioning places the Carnival in a unique segment without direct competition, priced between the Toyota Innova Hycross (Rs 18.92 lakh–30.98 lakh) and the Toyota Vellfire (Rs 1.22 crore–1.33 crore).
