Kia has launched the all-new fourth-generation Carnival in India, priced at Rs 63.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This premium MPV is offered in a single fully-loaded Limousine variant and is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine. Initially, it is available exclusively as a 7-seater. Alongside this launch, Kia has also revealed pricing for its flagship EV, the EV9.
The new Carnival, imported as a CKD (completely knocked down) unit, comes with a significantly higher price tag than its predecessor, which was priced around Rs 33-34 lakh. However, the 2024 Carnival brings considerable upgrades in size, features, and luxury. Positioned between the Toyota Innova Hycross (priced between Rs 19.77 lakh and Rs 30.98 lakh) and the more upscale Toyota Vellfire (priced between Rs 1.22 crore and Rs 1.32 crore), the Carnival doesn’t face any direct competition in the Indian market.
2024 Kia Carnival: Design and Interior Highlights
As bookings opened on September 16, the Indian model is based on the facelifted fourth-generation Carnival, which debuted internationally in November last year. The new Carnival sports a more angular and robust design compared to its predecessor, featuring Kia’s signature ‘Tiger Nose’ grille, vertically stacked LED headlamps with L-shaped DRLs, and 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The rear also follows the L-shaped lighting theme, with connected tail-lights and an LED light bar.
The Carnival comes in two exterior colors – Glacier White Pearl and Fusion Black – and two interior themes – Navy with Misty Gray, and Tuscan with Umber. The cabin is arranged in a 2+2+3 seating layout, with heated and ventilated second-row captain seats featuring extendable leg support.
