Mercedes-Benz India has introduced the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe to the Indian market, priced at ₹1.11 crore. This model, which debuted globally in September last year, marks a shift from the previous 3.0-litre bi-turbo V6 engine to a more efficient 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged unit.
Design Highlights:
The AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe stands out with its distinct AMG-specific design elements. The coupe’s sloping roofline is complemented by an AMG-specific grille, sportier front and rear bumpers, and striking alloy wheels that go up to 21 inches. The side skirts and a prominent rear diffuser housing quad exhausts—two on each side—further accentuate its aggressive stance.
Interior Features:
Inside, the AMG GLC 43 shares much of its layout with the standard GLC but adds a sportier touch. The cabin features an AMG-spec steering wheel, sporty seats upholstered in Nappa leather, AMG-branded pedals and floor mats, and illuminated door sills. Unique AMG graphics are displayed on both the digital instrument cluster and the 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The interior is enhanced by a premium 710W, 15-speaker Burmester sound system and a 12.3-inch driver display.
Powertrain and Performance:
The heart of the GLC 43 is its 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which is coupled with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This powertrain produces an impressive 421hp and 500Nm of torque, allowing the coupe to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission that delivers power to all four wheels, and the coupe comes equipped with rear-wheel steering, high-performance brakes, speed-sensitive steering, and adjustable suspension dampers as standard.
Competition:
In the Indian market, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe goes head-to-head with the BMW X3 M40i, offering a blend of performance, luxury, and distinctive styling.
