Mahindra is accelerating its product offensive in India with a significantly expanded launch pipeline. The homegrown SUV specialist has now confirmed plans to introduce 16 new models by 2031, spanning both internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electric vehicles (EVs). This marks a major scale-up from its earlier roadmap and reflects the brand’s aggressive push to strengthen its position across segments.
A bigger, more ambitious product strategy
Back in 2024, Mahindra had outlined a plan to roll out nine ICE models and seven EVs by 2030. However, strong execution over the past two years has allowed the company to fast-track its ambitions.
By the end of FY2026, Mahindra has already delivered a substantial portion of that plan with multiple launches across both powertrain categories. Building on this momentum, the company has now revised its strategy upward, targeting:
- 10 ICE models
- 6 electric vehicles
- Total: 16 launches by 2031
This effectively more than doubles the number of vehicles that were pending under the original roadmap.
Recent launches strengthen the foundation
Mahindra’s rapid progress is backed by a series of recent product introductions. On the ICE side, key launches include:
- Mahindra XUV 3XO
- Mahindra Thar Roxx
- Mahindra XUV 7XO
- Mahindra Bolero
- Mahindra Bolero Neo
In the EV space, Mahindra has also been active with new-generation electric SUVs such as:
- Mahindra BE 6
- Mahindra XEV 9e
- Mahindra XEV 9S
- Mahindra XUV 3XO EV
These launches have helped the brand quickly build a diversified portfolio across price points and fuel types.
ICE lineup expansion: New SUVs and platform shift
Mahindra’s upcoming ICE strategy is heavily focused on SUVs, staying true to its core strength. Of the 10 planned ICE models, the lineup will include:
- 1 major facelift (likely the Mahindra Scorpio N update)
- 9 completely new models
A large number of these future vehicles are expected to be built on the new NU_IQ platform, which debuted in 2025. This architecture is designed to support improved safety, connectivity, and performance while enabling scalability across multiple body styles.
Vision concepts preview future SUVs
- Mahindra Vision S
- Mahindra Vision X
- Mahindra Vision T
- Mahindra Vision SXT
Production versions of these concepts are expected to be positioned under Mahindra’s popular sub-brands like XUV, Thar, and Scorpio. The first of these next-gen SUVs is likely to arrive as early as next year.
EV push continues with INGLO platform
Mahindra’s electric future will be driven by its dedicated INGLO platform, which underpins its born-electric range. The next major EV launch is expected to be the production version of the:
- Mahindra BE.07
This model is slated for a 2027 debut and will further expand Mahindra’s premium EV lineup.
What this means for the Indian market
Mahindra’s aggressive expansion plan signals a clear intent to:
- Strengthen dominance in the SUV segment
- Accelerate EV adoption with a wider portfolio
- Introduce new platforms and technologies faster than before
With 16 new models in just five years, Mahindra is positioning itself as one of the most active automakers in India’s evolving mobility landscape.
