Mahindra is set to make waves in the electric vehicle (EV) market with its upcoming BE 6e and XEV 9e SUVs. The much-anticipated models will have their prices partially revealed during the official unveiling on November 26, following a teaser campaign that has kept enthusiasts on their toes. This marks Mahindra’s aggressive entry into the mainstream EV segment, and the brand is expected to adopt competitive pricing to challenge market leaders.
Technical Highlights: Performance and Charging
The BE 6e and XEV 9e will debut with advanced specifications, including 59kWh and 79kWh battery options. Both models support fast charging, with the ability to go from 20% to 80% charge in just 20 minutes using a 175kW DC charger. At launch, they will feature rear-wheel drive configurations, delivering motor outputs between 231hp and 286hp. Central to the design is Mahindra’s innovative “compact three-in-one powertrain,” integrating the motor, inverter, and transmission for enhanced efficiency and performance.
Bold and Futuristic Design
The design of the BE 6e and XEV 9e will be a standout feature. Mahindra is carrying forward the concept-inspired styling, retaining the sporty coupe-SUV silhouette with sharp lines and bold contours. Key exterior highlights include illuminated logos, aero-optimised alloy wheels, flared wheel arches with gloss-black cladding, and striking full-width LED DRLs at both the front and rear. These SUVs promise a dynamic and modern road presence.
Luxurious Interiors with High-Tech Features
Inside, the BE 6e takes on a futuristic, driver-focused approach with a cockpit-style layout and dual floating infotainment screens. On the other hand, the XEV 9e, based on the XUV700 platform, features a triple-screen dashboard setup that spans the cabin’s width, complemented by shared switchgear from its ICE sibling.
Both SUVs aim to set new benchmarks for equipment in their segment. Highlights include:

- 5G connectivity for seamless smart features.
- A Dolby Atmos-enabled 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
