Mahindra BE 6 & XEV 9e Secure 30179 Bookings on Day 1

Mahindra’s latest electric SUVs, the BE 6 and XEV 9e, have made a strong debut, collectively securing 30,179 bookings on their first day. The XEV 9e accounted for 56% of the total reservations, while the BE 6 made up the remaining 44%. The top-end Pack Three variant, featuring a 79kWh battery, emerged as the most popular choice across both models.

Given that approximately 1 lakh EVs were sold in 2024, Mahindra’s impressive single-day booking figures signal a growing interest in electric mobility in India. Customers can book the BE 6 and XEV 9e through select Mahindra dealerships and the official website. However, production is limited to 5,000 units per month, with deliveries scheduled between March and August 2025.

The BE 6 is available in two power configurations. The 59kWh variants generate 231hp and 380Nm of torque, while the 79kWh model delivers 286hp with the same torque output. All versions feature a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) setup.

In terms of range, the 79kWh variant, equipped with a BYD-sourced battery, boasts an ARAI-certified range of 682km, while the 59kWh models offer a range of 556km.

The XEV 9e’s lower variants come with a 59kWh battery, powering a 231hp rear-mounted motor with 380Nm of torque. It offers an MIDC-certified range of 542km and supports multiple charging options:

  • 7.2kW AC charger – 8.7 hours
  • 11.2kW AC charger – 6 hours
  • 140kW DC fast charger – 20 minutes (for a significant charge boost)

The top-spec Pack Three variant houses a 79kWh battery, increasing output to 286hp while maintaining 380Nm of torque. This model delivers a 656km range and charges in:

  • 7.2kW AC charger – 11.7 hours
  • 11.2kW AC charger – 8 hours
  • 175kW DC fast charger – 20 minutes

With these strong booking numbers, Mahindra’s BE 6 and XEV 9e are poised to make a significant impact in India’s growing EV market.
