Land Rover Defender 130: exterior details
The Defender 130 is 340mm longer than the Defender 110 behind the rear axle. This means that the wheelbase of both SUVs is the same up until the C-pillar. But the Defender 130 has a much longer rear overhang, which makes the SUV’s departure angle 28.5 degrees instead of 40 degrees like the 110. The only difference between the 130 and its smaller siblings is that the 130 is longer. Other than that, the styling of all Defenders is the same.
The inside and features of the Land Rover Defender 130
The most interesting thing about the Defender 130’s interior is the new two-three-three seating arrangement, which makes it the only luxury SUV that can fit more than seven people. The three rows of seats in the eight-seat SUV are set up like a stadium, with the middle and back rows slightly raised to improve visibility.
The middle row slides and folds to give you access to the third row, and Land Rover says that three adults can sit in the third row in comfort. There is also a second sunroof, which lets more light in for people sitting in the third row. Four-zone air conditioning can be added as an option.
With the two rows folded down, the extra length gives the car a huge 2,516-litre trunk. That’s 953 liters more than the 110 when its second row is folded down.
In terms of features, the 130 has everything that the 90 and the 110 already have. This includes an 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest Pivi-Pro software, a fully digital instrument cluster, connected car technology, wireless charging, a Meridian audio system, 14-way electrically adjustable front seats, a 360-degree surround camera, matrix LED headlights, 20-inch wheels.
Different ways to power the Land Rover Defender 130
In India, there are two engine options for the Defender 130: a 400hp, 550Nm, 3.0-liter, six-cylinder gasoline engine (P400) and a 300hp, 650Nm, 3.0-liter, six-cylinder diesel engine (P300) (D300). Both engines have mild hybrid technology and come with an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels by default. Both the Defender 110 and the Defender 130 come with air suspension as standard.
