The Kia Syros, Kia’s second compact SUV for India, is already creating a stir even before its official price announcement on February 1. Dealers report that the top two automatic variants—HTX+ and HTX+ (O)—are in especially high demand, owing to their premium features, including rear-seat ventilation. Pre-launch bookings for the Syros have surpassed 10,000, following its debut at the Auto Expo earlier this month.
Premium Features Boost Demand for Syros’ Top Variants
The HTX+ and HTX+ (O) trims stand out with their extensive feature set, which includes advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), a 360-degree camera, additional parking sensors, and a blind-view monitor. These variants also offer 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-tone interiors, leatherette upholstery, ambient lighting, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. Tech enthusiasts will appreciate the dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation, an 8-speaker sound system, and more.
The mid-range HTK+ variant has also attracted attention, offering a competitive feature set such as a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, push-button start, cruise control, and drive and traction modes.
Engine and Transmission Choices
The Kia Syros is available with two engine options: a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. Turbo-petrol variants are particularly popular, accounting for 60% of bookings, with most buyers opting for the smooth dual-clutch automatic transmission. Diesel variants, too, see higher demand for their automatic option, featuring a torque converter.
Colour Preferences Among Buyers
Frost Blue has emerged as the most sought-after colour for the Syros, followed by Glacier White Pearl. Other available shades include Sparkling Silver, Gravity Grey, Imperial Blue, Intense Red, Pewter Olive, and Aurora Pearl Black, providing buyers with a diverse palette of choices.
Test Drives and Delivery Timelines
Test drives are set to commence in New Delhi early next month, with other locations expected to follow by February 10. Deliveries are anticipated to begin in mid-February in major cities and by the end of the month in tier-2 cities, ensuring a wide rollout across the country.
With its feature-packed trims and growing anticipation, the Kia Syros is poised to make a strong debut in the compact SUV market.
