Kawasaki Versys-X 300 Returns to India for 2025, Priced at ₹3.80 Lakh

Kawasaki has reintroduced the Versys-X 300 to the Indian market for 2025, with a starting price of ₹3.80 lakh (ex-showroom). This adventure tourer retains its core mechanical setup but gets minor updates in terms of aesthetics and emissions compliance.

What’s New for 2025?

While the overall design and hardware remain largely unchanged, the 2025 Versys-X 300 now comes in a new blue-and-white colour scheme, complemented by refreshed graphics. The engine has been updated to meet the latest OBD-2B emission standards. Contrary to earlier expectations of local assembly, the bike is still being sold as a completely built unit (CBU).

Engine and Performance

Under the tank sits the familiar 296cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine borrowed from the Ninja 300. It produces 40hp and 25.7Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch for smoother gear shifts.

Chassis and Hardware

The bike is built on a backbone frame and comes equipped with a generous 17-litre fuel tank. Suspension duties are handled by a 41mm telescopic front fork with 130mm of travel and a rear monoshock offering 148mm of travel. It offers 180mm of ground clearance, suitable for light off-roading and touring.

The Versys-X 300 continues to ride on spoked wheels — a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear — with tube-type tyres, catering to its adventure-ready nature.

Features

The feature list remains modest. It gets a digi-analogue instrument cluster, gear position indicator, and dual-channel ABS. There are no advanced electronics or ride modes, keeping it simple and focused.

Competition and Pricing

At ₹3.80 lakh, the Versys-X 300 is priced ₹12,000 higher than the KTM 390 Adventure, which offers more modern features and higher power output from its single-cylinder engine. However, the Versys stands out by offering a smoother, twin-cylinder motor, which may appeal to those prioritizing refinement over sheer performance.
