Hyundai Launches Aura E CNG at Rs 7.49 Lakh, Making It the Most Affordable CNG Sedan in India

Hyundai has introduced the Aura E CNG at a competitive price of Rs 7.49 lakh, positioning it as the most affordable CNG variant in the sedan lineup. The Aura now offers CNG options across three variants: E, S, and SX.

Key Highlights of the Hyundai Aura E CNG:

  • Significant Price Reduction: The new entry-level E CNG variant is priced Rs 82,000 lower than the previous base CNG model, offering an accessible CNG option for budget-conscious buyers.
  • Competitive Pricing: The Aura E CNG is Rs 1 lakh more expensive than the entry-level petrol E variant. However, it undercuts competitors like the Tata Tigor CNG (Rs 7.75 lakh-9.95 lakh) and Maruti Dzire CNG (Rs 8.44 lakh-9.12 lakh), establishing it as the most affordable CNG sedan on the market.
  • Single-Cylinder Setup: Unlike the recently updated dual-cylinder CNG setups in the Hyundai Exter and Grand i10 Nios, the Aura continues with a single-cylinder configuration.

Powertrain and Specifications:

The Hyundai Aura CNG is powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 69hp and 95Nm of torque on CNG, and 83hp and 114Nm on petrol. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard for the CNG variants, while the petrol versions are also available with a 5-speed AMT.

Competition:

The Aura CNG competes directly with the Tata Tigor CNG and Maruti Dzire CNG. In the petrol segment, it faces rivals such as the Honda Amaze, which, along with the Maruti Dzire, is expected to receive significant updates later this year. Hyundai Aura petrol variants are priced between Rs 6.49 lakh and Rs 9.05 lakh.

The launch of the Aura E CNG not only broadens Hyundai’s CNG lineup but also strengthens its position in the competitive compact sedan market, especially for buyers seeking economical and environmentally-friendly options.
