Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India launches New Advanced Activa 2023

Mr. Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President, and CEO of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, said at the launch of the new, smarter Activa 2023, “Activa had re-activated the scooter market and has been one of the best-selling two-wheelers for more than a decade. It has gone through many changes to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers. Today, we’re introducing the new OBD2-compliant Activa 2023, which has a lot of features that are the first of their kind and give customers more value.

Smart Convenience

The new, smarter, and more advanced Activa 2023 comes with the world-famous Honda Smart Key. The following are parts of the Honda Smart Key System:

1. Smart Find: The answer-back feature on the smart key makes it easy to find the car. When the answer back button on the Honda SMART Key is pressed, the scooter can be found by seeing all four winkers blink twice.

Smart Unlock: The Smart Key System is a newer piece of technology that lets you lock and unlock your car without a physical key. If the system doesn’t see any movement for 20 seconds after the scooter is turned on, it turns off automatically.

3.Smart Start: If the smart key is within 2 metres of the vehicle, the rider can start the vehicle smoothly by turning the knob on the Lock Mod to the ignition position and pressing the start button without even taking the key out of his or her pocket.

4. Smart Safe: The Activa 2023 comes with a Mapped Smart ECU, which acts as a security device by electronically matching (ID) the ECU and the SMART Key. This keeps the vehicle from being stolen. The smart key has a system that keeps the engine from starting with a key that hasn’t been registered. The Immobilizer System is not turned on without a secure connection with the Smart Key.

Engine Start/Stop Switch: This switch works in both directions. When pressed down, it starts the engine, and when pressed up, it stops the engine.

It also has a unique Double Lid Fuel Opening System that makes it easy for the rider to get to the 18L of storage space under the seat. It also has a Lock Mod (5-in-1 lock) that makes it easy and reliable for the rider.

The large floor space makes it easy to ride comfortably on long trips and also lets you carry more luggage. On the other hand, a Long Wheelbase car is more stable and balanced and has a better ride on bad roads. With constant light from a DC LED headlamp, it’s easier to ride at night on rough roads and at low speeds. The Passing Switch makes it easy to control the high beam, low beam, and passing signal with just one switch.

Smart Design

The new Alloy Wheels improve the look of the Activa 2023 scooter by making it look both stylish and smart. The scooter has an image that is both modern and high-end because it has an irresistible and timeless design, a premium colour, and a 3D emblem. Front design with sharp cuts, chrome accents, and an attractive headlamp make a fashion statement. The scooter looks great because it has a silver grabrail and a rear taillight that is beautifully made and has side lights.

Smarter Reliability

The promise of a reliable and durable body is kept by the fact that the whole thing is made of metal. The Combi-Brake System (CBS) with Equalizer and 3-step adjustable rear suspension make every ride on the Activa 2023 comfortable and easy. The 12-inch Front Wheel makes riders feel safe and makes the ride better. Telescopic suspension makes the ride more stable and smoother, and it has the best ground clearance in its class.

Tech that is smart

The Honda Activa 2023 is being made with as many as 5 patent applications. It is India’s favourite two-wheeler.

At the heart of the Activa 2023 is Honda’s trusted 110cc PGM-FI engine, which is OBD2 compliant and gets a boost from Enhanced Smart Power (eSP).

India now has the same standards as the rest of the world thanks to the Sophisticated, Precise, and Sensitive Enhanced Smart Power (eSP). Honda’s Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology is a performance booster for the engine. It maximises energy output by maximising efficient combustion and minimising friction, giving the engine a quiet start and a smooth, eco-friendly feel.

Enhanced Smart Power, or eSP, is a combination of:

Unique Honda ACG Starter: It starts the engine without a jolt by using the same AC generator that makes electricity and charges the battery while the bike is moving. This gets rid of the need for a regular starter motor, so there are no sounds of gears meshing.

Two mechanical features help the engine start with less effort. The first is the efficient use of decompression with slightly opened exhaust valves (at the beginning of the compression stroke). The second is the Swing Back feature, which rotates the engine in a slightly opposite direction. This allows the piston to take a “running start,” which makes it easier to start the engine with a small amount of power.

The Start Solenoid, which works like an automatic choke, makes sure that there is a good mix of air and fuel and lets you start the engine just once at any time.

2. Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI): It puts the right amount of fuel in each cylinder based on information about the engine and constant feedback from the 5 smart sensors. It makes the power output smooth and linear all the way through.

3. Tumble Flow: Using an integrated die-casting process, Honda made the first tumble flow technology in the world. The improved Smart Tumble Technology (eSTT) creates tumble flow by optimising the shape of the inlet port and using the phenomenon of reverse flow. This is done without adding extra parts that would change the way the combustion works.

4. Less friction: The offset cylinder, the lighter crankshaft, and the optimised piston all help to reduce friction in the engine as a whole. When weight is optimised, fuel efficiency goes up.

Honda’s new tyre compound technology is used to make the Fuel Efficient Tyres that come with the New Activa 2023. It cuts rolling resistance by 15–20% while keeping the tire’s grip on the road. This saves fuel.

Side Stand with Engine Inhibitor stops the engine from starting when the side stand is in use, so you can ride easily and without worry.

Price, variants & colours

Activa 2023 will come in three different types (Standard, Deluxe, and Smart) and six different colours (Pearl Siren Blue, Decent Blue Metallic, Rebel Red Metallic, Black, Pearl Precious White & Matte Axis Grey Metallic).
