Based on the C3 hatchback, Citroen India has released a teaser for its first all-electric car. It will be India’s first electric car and the third model from the company. It will be called “C3.” The electric hatch will be shown to the public around the middle of January 2023, and it will go on sale in early February 2023.
The C3 electric car was recently seen being tested on Indian roads. The front of the car that was seen was covered up, and it looks like it was hiding the charging port. The EV will be based on the ICE C3, which you can tell by looking at the side profile and design elements. But we expect Citroen to make some obvious changes to the way it looks to set it apart from the regular model.
When it comes to the powertrain and battery, it is likely to have more than one option. For example, the Peugeot e-208, which is built on the same platform, has a 50kWh battery pack with a WLTP-claimed range of over 350km. The EV will likely have an electric motor that makes 136 bhp and 260Nm of torque. The electric vehicle could also have a smaller battery pack with a range of about 300 km.
The current ICE C3 doesn’t have basic features like cruise control, rear wipers, a rear defogger, ORVMs that can be adjusted manually, and a lot more. The electric version of the Citroen C3 is likely to have more features than the gasoline version.
Features like a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a driver’s seat that can be adjusted for height, four speakers, a digital instrument cluster, and audio controls on the steering wheel are all likely to be carried over.
When it comes out, it will go up against the Tata Tiago EV and the Tigor EV. Since the ICE C3 costs between Rs 5.71 lakh and Rs 8.06 lakh (ex-showroom), the electric version of the small hatchback might cost around Rs 10 lakh.
