BMW and Mini Unveil Exciting Lineup for Auto Expo 2025

BMW is set to make a grand entrance at the Auto Expo 2025, taking place from January 17 to 22, with the debut of the all-new fourth-generation X3. Alongside this, BMW’s iconic Mini brand will be showcasing the performance-focused Cooper S John Cooper Works Edition. The brand’s Motorrad division will also reveal a range of new high-performance motorcycles.

BMW X3: Bold Redesign and Advanced Features

Unveiled globally in June 2024, the new BMW X3 brings a fresh design language, both inside and out. Featuring smooth, clean lines and a refined aesthetic, it boasts a striking new grille with diagonal and horizontal slats and distinctive dagger-shaped headlights with double LED ‘ticks’. The interior draws inspiration from the BMW iX electric SUV, incorporating a wide, curved display and a minimalist dashboard finished in a new meshed fabric material for a modern, sleek feel.

Under the hood, the X3 will be available with mild-hybrid petrol and diesel engine options. The 2.0-litre petrol engine delivers 208hp and 330Nm, while the 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 197hp and 400Nm. Although the X3 will also be offered with a 2.0-litre petrol plug-in hybrid and a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine in international markets, these variants are not expected to be available in India initially.

In addition to the X3, BMW will display a range of other models at the expo, including the X7, the 5 Series Long Wheelbase, the new M5, M4, and M2, all of which will be showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works: Performance Meets Style

Mini will also spotlight its most performance-oriented model, the Cooper S John Cooper Works (JCW) Edition. Powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, the JCW variant delivers 231hp and 380Nm – an improvement of 27hp and 80Nm over the standard Cooper S. The powertrain remains unchanged from the outgoing model, retaining the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission for seamless gear shifts.

Visually, the JCW stands out with a bold blacked-out grille, large air vents on the front bumper, and a rear spoiler for enhanced aerodynamics. The rear also features a black diffuser and a centrally positioned tailpipe. Buyers can choose between 17-inch or optional 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the car adopts a sporty red-and-black theme, with JCW sports seats featuring multi-colored knitted fabric and red stitching. The new JCW sports steering wheel adds to the performance-focused atmosphere.

BMW and Mini’s presence at the Auto Expo 2025 promises an exciting lineup, combining cutting-edge technology, performance, and design to captivate automotive enthusiasts.
