Charging & Battery Details

Equipped with a 3kWh battery pack, Bajaj claims a range of 127km for the Chetak 3001, though it remains unclear if this figure is based on real-world use or IDC standards. A key convenience is the bundled 750W charger, capable of recharging the battery from empty to 80% in under four hours.

Platform & Design

Built on the same chassis as the more premium Chetak 35 models, the 3001 retains the segment-leading 35-litre underseat storage. Like other Chetak scooters, it features a robust metal body, contributing to its durability and classic appeal.

Performance & Features

While Bajaj has not disclosed the 3001’s motor output or top speed, it is expected to share performance characteristics with the Chetak 3503, which has a top speed of 63kph. Braking duties are handled by drum brakes at both ends.

The scooter features a colour LCD display, and an optional TecPac unlocks smart features such as call and music control, hill-hold assist, reverse mode, ‘Guide Me Home’ lighting, and an auto-flashing tail-light. Pricing for the TecPac and detailed performance specs are yet to be revealed.

Positioning in the Market

At under ₹1 lakh, the Chetak 3001 undercuts several electric and even some petrol-powered 125cc scooters, making it a compelling option for budget-conscious urban commuters. It is only ₹1,500 pricier than the outgoing 2903 model it replaces.

Final Thoughts

With its accessible pricing, practical features, and classic all-metal styling, the Bajaj Chetak 3001 is well-positioned to boost Chetak’s already growing presence in India’s EV two-wheeler space. The introduction of this entry-level model marks another step in Bajaj’s mission to make electric mobility more mainstream.
