Auto Expo 2023: MG 5 EV Makes India Debut

At the Auto Expo 2023, MG Motor India had a number of models on display at its booth. The new MG 5 electric estate was one of them. The MG5 Estate was first sold in Europe in the second half of 2020. It was basically a rebranded version of the Roewe Ei5, which was sold in China. The model got a facelift in the middle of 2021.

The latest version of the MG5 has a more streamlined look than the model that came before it. The nose has sleek, swept-back headlights on either side of a narrow, closed-off grille. The bumper is clean and has a central air dam and angular vents on the sides. The clean design goes all the way to the side, and the clean shoulder line goes all the way to the back. The back of the car has a clean bumper, a slanted rear window, and big taillights with Y-shaped LED light guides.

Inside, the cabin has a layered dashboard made of soft-touch materials and a central touchscreen that stands on its own.

The MG5 is about the same size as the Skoda Octavia. It is 4,600 millimetres long, 1,818 millimetres wide, and 1,543 millimetres tall.

The MG 5 can be bought around the world with either a 50.3 kWh or a 61.1 kWh battery pack, giving it a range of up to 400 km per charge. It’s still not clear if MG will sell the 5 in India.
