Audi Q8 Facelift Teased Ahead of August 22 Launch

Audi India has teased the facelifted Q8, scheduled for an official launch on August 22. The Q8, which was globally unveiled last September, will continue to hold its position as Audi’s flagship SUV in the Indian market.

Styling Tweaks and Design Enhancements

The facelifted Q8 will feature subtle styling updates while retaining its signature design elements. The teaser video reveals a new grille design with octagonal apertures and ‘L’-shaped inserts, along with upgraded HD Matrix LED headlamps and redesigned digital OLED tail-lights. Despite these changes, the overall coupe-SUV shape remains unchanged. Internationally, the Q8 facelift introduces five new alloy wheel designs.

Interior Design and Features

The interior of the Q8 facelift closely resembles the outgoing model, with updates limited to new stitching patterns and additional interior color schemes. The SUV will continue to offer luxurious features like Audi’s twin MMI touchscreens, four-zone climate control, a head-up display, heated, ventilated, and massaging seats, and a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Engine and Performance

The India-spec Q8 facelift is expected to retain the 3.0-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, delivering 340hp and 500Nm of torque. This engine will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, with power distributed to all four wheels.

Expected Price and Rivals

The current Audi Q8 is priced between Rs 1.07 crore and Rs 1.43 crore (ex-showroom, India), and the facelifted version is anticipated to carry a slightly higher price tag. While the Q8 facelift won’t have direct competitors, it will serve as an alternative to more conventional luxury SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz GLE and BMW X5.
